Corporal Michael Moloney was born in 1831 in County Limerick, Ireland. A stonecutter, he arrived in the United States on May 4, 1849 aboard the Dina Carmeley. Moloney was 5’3 ½” with a light complexion, blue eyes and dark hair. He married Kate Doyle in Ireland. Moloney was promoted to corporal on March 16, 1863.
