Henry Bruce Ross was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky in 1844, the son of Samuel C. Ross and Mary Bradshaw. Ross was 5’5 ½”, with a fair complexion, brown eyes and black hair. Private Ross was reduced to the ranks from musician on May 30, 1862.
