The Paducah Nationals’ Two Game Series Against the Louisville Giants

From the Paducah News-Democrat, July 29, 1907

The Negro Team.

Paducah’s crack negro baseball team, the “Paducah Nationals,” will play the Louisville Giants, who claim to be the champion negro team of the south, at Paducah, August 7 and 8. The games will be for the entire gate receipts and a big section of the grand stand will be reserved for white people. The Louisville negroes recently beat the Nationals two out of three games. Ben Boyd, the boss of the Nationals today telegraphed to Memphis for Julius London, pitcher; Jack Greer, catcher, and Arthur McDougal, infielder. Larry Rogers, George Head, Louis Thomas and the other negro champions of Paducah, will play.
