Baseball and Strawberries . . . because why not?
From the Louisville Daily Courier, June 10, 1867
Base-ball and Strawberries.
A grand base ball match and strawberry festival is to come off on Tuesday at the Cedar Hill Park, for the benefit of the suffering poor of the South. The gates will be open at 2 o’clock, and the tables will be set with delicacies – fruit and confectionary. The base ball game will be played between the first nine of the Louisville Club and a picked nine from the Olympic and Eureka Clubs.
