Remembering Private Christopher C. Newman, Company A of the Fifteenth Kentucky


Christopher Newman was born in Henderson County, Tennessee, and was a twenty-year-old clerk when he joined Company A. Newman was 5’7”, with a fair complexion, dark eyes and dark hair. Private Newman was discharged May 18, 1863, in Nashville on a certificate of disability based upon hypertrophy of the heart and a hereditary tendency toward consumption.
