Remembering Private James Gill, Company A of the Fifteenth Kentucky

James L. Gill was born in Shelby County, Kentucky, the son of Jediah W. Gill and Louisiana A. Dale. He was twenty-three when he enlisted. Gill was 5’11”, with a fair complexion, gray eyes, and dark hair. He was a farmer. Private Gill was killed at the Battle of Perryville, October 8, 1862, and is presumed buried on the battlefield.
