Private James Love was a twenty-three-year-old farmer when he signed up with Company A. He was born in Spencer County, Kentucky, the son of William H. Love and Emily Staners. Love was 5’9 ½”, with a light complexion, gray eyes and dark hair. Private Love was wounded at the Battle of Perryville on October 8, 1862.
