James Albin was born on July 31, 1834 in Winchester County, Virginia, the son of Robert Albin and Elizabeth Carter. A cabinetmaker, he was 5’8” and had a fair complexion, gray eyes and dark hair. Albin died April 1, 1862 in Bowling Green of typhoid fever. He is buried in Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelby County.
