Remembering Private Thomas D. Goodman, Company A of the Fifteenth Kentucky


Thomas Goodman was born in South Carolina. Although Goodman told the mustering officer he was eighteen years old when he enlisted, Goodman was actually fourteen on entering the army. He was a farmer. Goodman was 5’5”, with a light complexion, blue eyes, and light hair. Private Goodman was absent sick at Jeffersonville, Indiana, from February 28, 1864 to January 13, 1865. Goodman also served in Company E of the Fourteenth United States Infantry, Company E of the Sixteenth United States Infantry, and Company K of the Second United States Infantry.
