Remembering Private William C. Coulter, Company A of the Fifteenth Kentucky

William Coulter was born in Ireland. Twenty-eight years old when he enlisted, he was a stonecutter by profession. Coulter was 5’6 ½” and had a dark complexion, gray eyes, and dark hair. Private Coulter was discharged on January 8, 1864, on a certificate of disability based on ascites from exposure suffered at McLemore’s Cove before the Battle of Chickamauga.
