Remembering Sergeant Thomas E. Wilson, Company A of the Fifteenth Kentucky

The son of Obed Wilson and Emma Willis, Sergeant Thomas E. Wilson was born in Shelby County, Kentucky on October 21, 1837. He was 6’1/2” with a light complexion, blue eyes and dark hair. Sergeant Wilson was discharged from the Fifteenth Kentucky on January 12, 1863 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to accept appointment as First Lieutenant of the 44th Kentucky Infantry. Wilson married Amelia Hall (1843-1924). He died in St. Matthews, Kentucky on September 20, 1920 and is buried in Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
