A French author, who has recently published a tour through England, calls plump pudding pondin de plom (lead pudding), and translates Shakespeare’s Winter’s Tale into Conte de Mr. Winter. The Minister Pitt, he says, was called Billy, because he introduced so many bills into Parliament.
